Recent research findings on the 3 E's (Efficient, Effective & Equivalent) of group therapy are very positive. However, the underlying assumption of most of the research is that the frame of treatment is a constant. It isn't; it's a variable. That is because in groups where dual relationships exist between the leader and group members, and between the members themselves, the boundary between therapy and not therapy is often blurred. It is therefore impossible to know for certain what, in fact, is being measured. In order to shed light on the possible impact of dual relationships on treatment, this survey has been designed to ascertain AGPA's members experiences with these complicated relationships.
