Merrimack County Republican Committee Nomination Form

2024,  United States

This year, 40 Republicans will be elected to serve as members of both the Merrimack County Republican Committee (MCRC) and the New Hampshire Republican State Committee. The mission of the MCRC is to elect Republicans to local, county, state, and national office. The job of the members is to help make that happen through volunteer efforts. Our bylaws state the following:

B. Membership:

1) The MCRC shall consist of the number of members apportioned to it by the NHRSC. MCRC members shall be elected for a two-year term by the Merrimack County Republican Party Nominees and Delegates to the State Convention, as provided in the NHRSC bylaws, and shall take office at the January meeting following the fall elections or as soon thereafter as is reasonably practicable. Any registered Republican who resides in Merrimack County but not in the City of Concord is eligible to become a member.

2) Members are expected to fully participate in MCRC’s affairs, to help recruit and elect Republican candidates, and to promote the general welfare of the Republican Party. This would include attendance at meetings, actively assisting in the campaigns of MCRC members, participating in one or more subcommittees, and assisting in organizing and participating in MCRC events.

To serve effectively on the MCRC requires a sincere commitment of both time and energy. While this volunteer role is deeply rewarding, potential nominees should carefully consider whether they can dedicate the necessary hours to fulfill their responsibilities before putting their names forward.

Active committee members typically attend monthly meetings (~2 hours each), participate in at least one subcommittee, help with voter outreach and engagement, assist with candidate campaigns during election seasons, and contribute to fundraising efforts. Members may also be asked to help staff polling locations, organize community events, participate in local Old Home Day parades and booths, distribute campaign materials, make phone calls to constituents, and attend relevant training sessions. The estimated time commitment ranges from 3-5 hours per month during quiet periods to 5-10 hours per month during election season. While the workload can be significant, this vital role allows members to directly strengthen our democratic process and make meaningful change at the local level. If you are are unwilling or unable to do that, please consider becoming an Associate Member instead.
