The Parish Council wants to see Hurstpierpoint High Street continue to thrive and can help (with others) to create an environment in which your business can flourish.
Many of the issues that your businesses faces are external and driven by national trends and events. For example, at a local level, next year, Mid Sussex District Council is planning to introduce of parking charges (2025) in the Hurstpierpoint car parks. Mid Sussex District Council is proposing the introduction of charges at many of the village car parks to pay for their maintenance.
Your Parish Council wants to know what you think, what issues you face and how we can help, so that we can advocate on your behalf. Your answers are confidential.
We have also included additional questions to help us better understand the wider issues that your business faces.
Whilst we do not have responsibility for decision making on issues such as parking charges (that is Mid Sussex District Council) and the roads, on street parking and traffic management (that is West Sussex County Council) we do have the ability to advocate on behalf of our community to these bodies. Thus, we want to hear what you have to say about these potential changes.
Please bear in mind, when you answer the questions, that the Parish, District and County Councils are limited in what they can do. So, we cannot change national government policy, the rate of VAT or other taxes or change national HR/health and safety regulations.
