Victim Compensation/Restitution Survey

2020,  United States

The term victim is defined as "a person who suffers physical, emotional, and/or financial harm because of illegal activity."

Compensation and Restitution are very similar as they have the same outcome, but their process is slightly different. Compensation is a direct financial reimbursement to a victim that comes from systems put in place to help get victims back on their feet. Restitution is when the offender directly pays their victim for any damages they have caused.

This survey will ask questions concerning your own personal experience with being a victim. As these topics can be highly triggering please continue at your own discretion.
