Survey on Gun Control Laws

2024,  United States

Hello, my name is Kashmir, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts, currently conducting research on gun control laws and their impact on crime rates. This survey aims to explore the perspective that gun control laws may be ineffective because criminals often disregard them.

I believe that allowing legal carry more widely could empower responsible citizens to intervene in dangerous situations when law enforcement may not respond in time. By understanding public perception—especially in areas that enforce "no guns allowed" policies—I hope to gauge whether these laws create environments that criminals find enticing due to the lack of potential resistance.

The target audience for this survey includes any reasonable person over 21, particularly gun owners and those who may support gun control laws. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping my research. I assure you that all your personal answers will not be released or directly quoted in my paper. There will also be options to respond with "prefer not to answer" for sensitive questions.

The survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and I encourage you to answer honestly. While I hope the results will support my viewpoint, I remain open to any conclusions that may arise. Thank you for taking the time to participate!
